The Brief

Reset Body Alchemy is a small-batch natural skincare brand founded in Cape Town by Kay, who began formulating products during lockdown out of a desire for simple, effective and affordable skincare made from natural ingredients.

As the brand grew through word of mouth and repeat customers, Reset needed to translate its deeply personal, hands-on ethos into a cohesive brand identity, voice and social media presence. The challenge was to capture the sense of ritual, nature and emotional wellbeing that sits at the heart of the products, while still clearly communicating the benefits of each formulation.

Our solution

Working closely with the founder, we developed a new brand identity and tone of voice that reflects Reset’s philosophy of pro-ageing, natural beauty and everyday ritual. Reframing the brand from Reset Body to Reset Body Alchemy, the copy leans into a slightly mystical and sensorial quality while remaining grounded in the ingredients themselves.

We created layered product copy for both packaging and social media – from short, evocative descriptions for labels to longer product descriptions for social media and ecommerce, detailing ingredients and their benefits. This structure allows the brand to communicate both emotional resonance and practical skincare information.

Alongside the product copy, we helped shape the broader brand narrative – telling the story of a small-batch skincare maker who blends essential oils, botanicals and what she calls a touch of “witching alchemy” to create products that support both skin health and emotional wellbeing.

We also worked on a product shoot with Kay as art director and Russell Smith as product photographer, which was then dissemated to various media publications.
