SCOPE OF WORK
- Social media
- Content development
The Goldsmiths Gallery on Loop is a curated art and design space in the centre of Cape Town that showcases fine jewellery, art and photography. A distinctly contemporary African aesthetic runs like a golden thread through the work in the gallery, making the space more than a gallery but a celebration of local talent, skills and a nostalgic sense of workmanship.
The Gallery recruited us to consult on their social media and events strategy, as well as to advise them on ways to enhance their offering through content.
It was clear that the gallery needed to focus on what sets it apart from similar spaces in Cape Town and to tell the stories behind the pieces that curator Noeline Kruger selected for the gallery. Her instinct for curating work that embodies a uniquely South African narrative is what draws particularly international visitors to this spot.
A particularly exciting project that we worked with the Goldsmiths Gallery on was Antarctica 2020, the first solo exhibition of artist and neurosurgeon Dr Roger Melvill. The collection features 20 oils of canvas, which Melvill created while on expedition to the Antarctic with ocean advocate and endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh as the official expedition doctor.
We managed some of the PR and content around this special event, where the proceeds from all art sales was donated to the Lewis Pugh Foundation.
